About Shiosai
Nestled in the alleys of a former fishing village in Setoda, "Shiosai (潮彩)" stands in quiet dignity.
Before it stretches the Setoda Strait, and from the second-floor window, you can gaze upon golden sunsets painting the sea, layered ridgelines of blue and green islands.
These three colors — gold, blue, and green — are also the thematic palette of Ikuo Hirayama, a Japanese painter born here in Setoda.
Shiosai is located right next to the birthplace of Hirayama.
The name "Shiosai (潮彩)" comes from the ever-changing colors of the Setoda Strait as light shifts through the day.
It also carries quiet reverence for Hirayama's words: "Raised amid the tides of Seto, I walk my own path."
